Answers to questions you never asked

My name is Dylan, after the poet Dylan Thomas, not the musician Bob Dylan (neé Zimmerman, who in fact named himself after Dylan Thomas), and that’s an important distinction to me. I mostly play around on the internet for a living. I own three cats.

Here’s what’s up: I’m extroverted. And competitive. I am a hardcore computer nerd, and pretty proud of it, though I somehow manage to remain extroverted and socially acceptable. I’m not entirely sure where I’m going to go with this thing, but I feel peer pressured by myself to have a blog, so here it is. I want to entertain, to humor, to gather maybe just a few zealous stalkers. I make no promises.

I’m 28. I’m going gray, and even when I shave I don’t look like an undergrad anymore. But I know I’m still very young, and I’m not afraid of my mortality, although I no longer enjoy staying up after midnight (mostly).

My biggest fear is choking or suffocating. Because of this I’m a rather slow eater. Please bear with me.

I’m self-employed and damned happy about it. I hope to eventually live out in the country and raise alpacas with my wife. I want ping pong, air hockey, and poker tables in my basement. No pool table, as I find that parlor game much too slow-paced. I want to spend way too much money on a personal home theater and have all my friends and family over all the time for movie nights. And I want to make my own whirlyball court out of an old barn.

I dream of one day being able to dunk a basketball (on a 10′ hoop), to sing on key while simultaneously playing the guitar, and to once and for all have my home completely organized and clean.

If I could give myself one piece of advice – and I mean really give it, instead of pseudo-give it the way writing it here will be, and the way it is that I already know what the advice is so it’s not like I can’t give it but just that it’s hard for a person to follow his own advice – I would tell myself “Stop worrying about how little time you have for everything and focus more on enjoying the time you do have for the things you have it for, because in the end that’s all that will really matter.”
